Should you choose to mandate employee vaccinations or strongly encourage employees get the vaccine, you will need to be prepared to address employee concerns and handle requests for accommodation.
When considering making vaccinations part of your COVID-19 management strategy, keep in mind that employees who cannot be vaccinated due to a disability or religious belief may be entitled to a reasonable accommodation unless it presents an “undue hardship” to the employer. When requests for accommodations arise, we recommend employers provide employees with a form to help determine if an accommodation needs to be provided and what accommodations may be available.
